About the Author

Marcus obtained a degree in English Literature from Exeter University (UK) and was awarded a Creative Writing Scholarship (Poetry) to Syracuse University (USA).  After that he wrote under a private grant in UK for two years and established a book business north-west of London (UK), before migrating to Australia.  On gaining professional marketing qualifications (in International Marketing Management) he spent 4 years in a marketing role in photographics (Melbourne and Sydney, Australia), but left that to do arts administration and freelance writing and, most importantly, to finish his first published novel, Out of Nowhere (see below).  This led indirectly to his appointment as a professor at a university in Japan where he taught English Language through composition and film studies (indigenous issues around the world).  He now writes full-time and lives mainly in Sydney, Australia, and is available for public readings of his work (see below).

His writing essentially concerns itself with the connection between us and the great creative spirit or our separation from that great creative spirit, and with the reality of one mankind and what we have done with that reality in the past and what we do with it in the ever present today.

On this site you will find details about forthcoming publication of his completed works, and some information about work in progress, which includes a number of volumes of what he has called ‘sopolyrimu’, being songs, poems, and lyrics for music.  You can also read about and order the first CD release of recordings of selections of these ‘sopolyrimu’ (available June 2008).  He hopes that the first CD will be the start of a series.
